Founded in 1837, Merged in 1995 with The Milwaukee Journal (founded in 1882 by Lucius W. Nieman), to form the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Circulation about 260,000 (470,000 for the Sunday edition.) The current paper has a very conservative bent.
