Started as the weekly paper West Hillsborough Times in Dunedin, FL, on 25 July 1884. After a pair of acquisitions, it moved to St. Petersburg in 1892, changing its name to St. Petersburg Times. Began being published semiweekly in 1907, then six-days-a-week in 1912, and finally daily in 1924. Named one of the ten best newspapers in America by Time in 1984.
