NEWSPAPER

Founded 18th September 1880 by William Rockhill Nelson. In 1901 it acquired the Kansas City Times which became its morning edition. The paper was sold to Capitol Cities in 1977, a company later acquired by Disney, which sold this paper along with several others to Knight-Ridder in 1997.
