Was the second-largest newspaper in Seattle, formed 1881 with the merger of the Weekly Intelligencer with the Seattle Post. Owned by Hearst since 1921. In January 2009, Hearst announced it was putting the Post-Intelligencer up for sale, and that the paper would be shuttered if no buyer were found. Published its last newspaper on 17 March 2009, switching to an online-only format.
