American International Club of Rome

ORGANIZATION

"The American International Club of Rome was started in 1953 when a group of Americans living in Rome (led by Henry Luce, the husband of the U.S. Ambassador to Italy Clare Boothe Luce) felt there was a need for an organization that would provide opportunities for meeting regularly with other Americans. A luncheon was held at the Grand Hotel... and the Club was born."
