Puerto Rican nationalist. With Griselio Torresola, stormed the temporary presidential residence at Blair House in 1950 in an attempt to assassinate President Harry S. Truman. Both men were shot outside the residence while Truman napped upstairs. The president commuted Collazo's sentence of death to life imprisonment, and he was pardoned and released from prison in 1979.
