Some of his songs have made an impact in American and British dance clubs, but he remains best known in the States through Buster Pondexter (David Johansen)'s 1987 cover version of Hot Hot Hot. His popularity in the Carribean, on the other hand, has been enormous since he was first crowned "Calypso Monarch of Monserrat" in 1971.
