Yugoslavian ski jumper, who for nearly thirty years was featured as "The Agony of Defeat" on ABC's Wide World of Sports. The incident occurred at the International Ski Flying Championship in Oberstdorf, West Germany, on 21 March 1970. Bogataj suffered a mild concussion from his fall, and for many years was completely unaware that his footage had reached the status of pop culture icon, and was surprised when invited to a WWoS anniversary special and at the attention he was receiving. He now works as a coach in Slovenia.
