Executive summary: Discovered Benadryl

Discovered beta-dimethylaminoethylbenzhydryl ether hydrochloride, an antihistamine which he called Benadryl, while studying muscle relaxers at the University of Cincinnati. He brought the discovery with him to Parke-Davis, which began selling the drug in 1946, making Rieveschl millions in royalties until the patent expired in 1964. Benadryl has been available over-the-counter since the 1980s.
