Typographic historian. As typographic advisor to the Lanston Monotype Corporation in the 1920s, he ordered certain fonts to be recut for use in machine printing, resulting in the resurgence of Bodoni, Garamond, Fournier, Baskerville, Poliphilus, and Bembo. In 1922 Morison founded The Fleuron Society, and edited its organ "The Fleuron", a journal of typography, from 1926 until 1930.

Imprisoned from 1914 to 1918 for being a conscientious objector during World War I.
