Controversial British author and biologist who formulated the notion of morphic fields to explain his observation that all laboratory mice suddenly possess the ability to solve a particular challenge -- that had previously baffled them -- after one mouse has cracked the problem. Despite being kept separated, the previously unsuccessful mice were suddenly able to duplicate the feat. Sheldrake cites similar observed phenomenon among other animal species.
