A company founded 1970 intended to diversify the operations of the former Imperial Tobacco Company. Imasco held assets in three main areas of business: Tobacco ("Imperial Tobacco", which includes the Player's brand and others, founded 1912), financial services ("Canada Trust", which it acquired in 1986), and retail drugstores ("Shoppers Drug Mart"). Tobacco business acquired by British American Tobacco in 2000. Canada Trust was acquired by Toronto-Dominion Bank in 2000.
