Founded 1919 by Willard Rockwell, merged with North American Aviation in 1967, acquired Collins Radio (an avionics company) in 1973. Once known as Rockwell International Corporation. Sold its aerospace business to Boeing in 1997. Spun off Rockwell Collins in 2001.
