COMPANY
Founded 1949 as Beatrice Steel Tank, in 1959 it became Hoover Ball and Bearing. It again changed name in 1977 to Hoover Universal, which was acquired in 1985 by Johnson Controls, where it remained under that name as a subsidiary. Also in 1985 Johnson sold some assets from Hoover to Citicorp Venture Capital, becoming Hoover Materials Handling Group, Inc., based in Apharetta, GA.
