Brown & Root
COMPANY
Founded 1919 by George Brown, Herman Brown (brothers) and Dan Root (brother-in-law). The company had an questionable and unhealthy relationship with Lyndon B. Johnson, their financial help to LBJ yielding more contracts awarded to the firm than otherwise deserved. Acquired by Halliburton in 1962, it is now known as Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR), a division of that company.
