Newspapers and other media holdings, founded 1878 in Cleveland by Edward W. Scripps as the Cleveland Penny Press. The company was known as Scripps-Howard from 1918 to 1948 or so, coinciding with the partnership of Roy W. Howard. Following his departure the business relocated to Cincinnati with Edward's grandson, Charles E. Scripps.
