COMPANY

Founded 1913 as the Cleveland and Western Coal Company. Renamed in 1925 to the North American Coal Corporation. In 1986 it became reorganized as a holding company, NACCO Industries, Inc. NACCO acquired Yale Materials Handling in 1985, Proctor-Silex in 1988, and the Hyster Company in 1989. Presently it is in three businesses, mining, housewares, and truck manufacture and leasing.
