Original company founded as Pharmacia in Stockholm, Sweden, 1911. It merged with Upjohn in 1995 to form Pharmacia & Upjohn. The Pharmacia company was re-created on 3 April 2000 when that merged company itself merged with Searle Pharmaceuticals (Searle itself having been owned by Monsanto.) Acquired by Pfizer in 2003.
