Founded by Fusajiro Yamauchi in 1889, originally offering hand-painted playing cards. After decades of success with playing cards, the company moved into electronics with the Ultra Hand in 1966 and the Kousenjuu Beam Gun in 1970, and introduced their first home video game, Color TV Game 6, in 1976. Released Donkey Kong in 1981, Super Mario Brothers in 1985, Game Boy in 1989, GameCube in 2001, and Wii in 2006.
