EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
Historically black university founded 1901 as the Colored Industrial and Agricultural School. It became Lincoln Parish Training School in 1918, Louisiana Negro Normal and Industrial Institute in 1928 (as a junior college), Grambling College in 1947 and finally Grambling State University in 1974.
