Catch-22 (24-Jun-1970)

Director: Mike Nichols

Writer: Buck Henry

From novel: Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

Producers: John Calley; Martin Ransohoff

Keywords: Dark Comedy, WWII

American bombardier Capt. Yossarian comes to the realization that as the required number of missions keeps rising, he will never reach the point at which he will be rotated off duty. He seeks medical disqualification based on insanity, for only one must be truly insane to continue flying; the surgeon declares him sane for realizing the insanity of his predicament. Hence the Catch 22. Meanwhile Milo Minderbinder runs a thriving black market business. Watch only in widescreen version or the excellent cinematography is ruined.
