A disaffected young boy injects some happiness into the lives of his grand-uncles when he is sent to live with them for the summer.

ABSTRACT
Walter, a young boy struggling with life in the care of his immature mother, is unexpectedly sent to live with oddball grand-uncles Garth and Hub for the summer in rural Texas. Bonding doesn't come easy for Walter, as his inability to operate a firearm or fish runs up against their interests and tendencies; things start to pick up when he begins to relate area gossip to the pair, however, igniting a desire in his grand-uncles to seek out new adventures recalling the wild exploits of their youth.
