Stoner flick follows a process server and his pot dealer as they attempt to evade hitmen following the dealer's boss's murdering of a competitor.
Dale Denton, a twentysomething process server in the business of serving court summaries to various individuals, pays a visit to drug dealer Saul Silver with the intent of scoring some pot. Informed by Saul that he might already know the identity of his next visit, Dale heads to the house of one Ted Jones, arriving just in time to witness the man and crooked cop Carol Brazier fatally shooting a young Asian man; the inadvertent disposal of a roach containing a rare strain of marijuana called "Pineapple Express" at the scene of the crime sees the bumbling Dale and Saul heading out on the run together, both attempting to avoid falling victim to a dangerous drug lord and his associates.
