A troubled Punjabi woman's life is forever changed with the arrival of an idealistic neighbor.
Naina Catherine Kapur is a Punjabi MBA student in New York City with a host of problems, her unwillingness to find a suitor -- and the animosity such a feeling creates in her expansive extended family -- paramount among them. Naina's problematic state of affairs, further troubled by memories of her father's suicide and her restaurateur mother's financial insolvency, turns around in an unexpected way with the arrival of Aman, an idealistic new neighbor by way of Indian who provides Naina with an exciting new outlook on life.
