Whatever Works (22-Apr-2009)

Director: Woody Allen Writer: Woody Allen Keywords: Comedy A hot-headed aging New Yorker embarks on a curious romance with a Mississippi-bred runaway.
ABSTRACT Boris Yellnikoff is a curmudgeonly old New Yorker, abandoning his career as a professor of quantum physics at Columbia University in favor of a reclusive life looking down on everyone he meets and giving chess lessons. Boris crosses paths with Mississippi-born runaway Melodie St. Ann Celestine one day when he finds her on his doorstep; initially allowing her to stay the night, Boris ends up sparking a romance with the young woman in spite of differences in their age and level of intellect, a love further complicated by Melodie's family's attempts to track her down.
