ABSTRACT
A mysterious shooting occurs along North and South Korea's highly contentious Demilitarized Zone border, leaving a soldier from the North dead and another from the South wounded. Tensions rise to their highest point since the Korean War as the two nations agree to hire Korean-Swiss interlocutor Sophie Jean to gather testimony from soldiers; the mystery intensifies when she learns of a strange informal detente between enemies that devolved into a shooting.
