Found-footage horror film follows a young couple as they become party to a series of terrifying happenings in their new suburban home.

ABSTRACT
Katie and Micah, a twentysomething California couple, move into a "starter" home on the outskirts of San Diego with the intent to settle down and start a family. Katie's interest in pseudo-scientific "paranormal" research lends itself to a belief that nefarious specters have stalked her since her early childhood, an idea proved eerily accurate despite Micah's initially skeptic attitudes when the couple become victims of a number of chilling events ultimately ending in a demonic possession. Produced on a shoestring budget estimated at just fifteen thousand dollars, Paranormal Activity was a surprise hit at the box office, relying on viral marketing and a devoted word-of-mouth following to earn mainstream studio backing resulting in a number of sequels and copycats.
