Connor MacLeod, a Scottish highlander born 1518, receives a mortal wound in 1536 but survives; his clan casts him out as the work of the devil. Connor is taught by Ramirez, an Egyptian Spaniard with a Scottish accent, of his immortality as well as the fine points of swordfighting. When an immortal decapitates another, his powers are absorbed; when only one is left, and there can be only one, the sole remaining immortal will receive The Prize. Maligned somewhat because of a parade of terrifically bad sequels. Soundtrack by Queen.
