ABSTRACT
June 28, 2005: Four elite members of the American Navy's SEAL Team 10 find themselves tasked with the pacification of notorious Taliban official Ahmad Shah as part of a mission termed "Operation Red Wings". The true-life endeavor, which fell through in a bad way when conditions were compromised early on and placed the SEALs at the mercy of Afghan insurgents, is dramatized in Lone Survivor, depicting events surrounding the mission as the SEALs' predicament quickly deteriorated from bad to worse. Nominated for Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
