An unemployed pastry chef and maid of honor at a friend's wedding becomes embroiled in a catfight with a bridesmaid over the question of who the bride's best friend is.

ABSTRACT
Annie Walker, a single thirtysomething woman whose failure of her bakery led to the loss of her relationship and savings, finds comfort and solace in her connection to her best friend, Lillian Donovan. When Lillian asks Annie to be the maid of honor at her upcoming wedding, however, Annie finds herself waist-deep in a histrionic controversy with bridesmaid Helen Harris III, the over-the-top wife of Lillian's beau's boss, over who can lay claim to being Lillian's closest friend. Nominated for Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay.
