Can't really do a review, but if memory serves me correctly this is the story of UK Defence Minister John Profumo's affair with more-or-less call girl Christeen Keeler (Mandy Rice-Davies was also involved), introduced to him by osteopath Stephen Ward (John Hurd's part I believe, and the principle one). Profumo denied his part when story of Keeler's involvement also with a Russian diplomat (spy?) came out, but was caught out and had to resign.
