ABSTRACT
Sissi, an introverted young nurse attached to her job at the Birkenhof mental asylum, meets transient ex-soldier Bodo by cosmic coincidence when he causes an accident that leaves her hovering between life and death under a truck. Bodo, on the run from his recent robbery of a gas station, performs an emergency tracheotomy on Sissi before leaving; believing him to be the man of her dreams, Sissi attempts to track him down, producing complications when she learns of his troubled history.
