Tennis player Guy Haines and unstable wastrel Bruno Anthony have idle talk during lunch aboard a train, theorizing that two parties could execute perfect murders if they were utterly unconnected to each other, by swapping victims. But Guy is shocked when Bruno carries out his half of the "bargain", and he is now expected to murder Bruno's father. Among Hitchcock's finest films; received an Oscar nomination for Best Cinematography.
