A nineteenth-century British soldier, branded a coward for resigning his post prior to a major military operation, plots to go undercover.

British military officer Harry Faversham, recently engaged to attractive ingenue Ethne, abruptly resigns his post just prior to a questionable military operation in Sudan; he is given four white feathers, each intended to symbolize his perceived cowardice, and abandoned by Ethne. Learning shortly thereafter of best friend and ex-comrade Jack's kidnapping, Harry moves to go undercover as an Arab to head into the war-torn African nation himself on a vigilante mission to rescue him.
