ABSTRACT
Jack Marcus is a seasoned English teacher at a highbrow prep school, fixated on tangible concepts and life in the rational world; incoming art teacher Dina Delsanto is a free thinker taken by flowing, amorphous thought expressed through pictures. Before long, a romantic connection forms between the sparring partners, one shaped in part by a school-wide competition involving their students to determine whether words or pictures are a better means of expressing one's consciousness.
