A small-town father's act of courage against a common criminal comes back to haunt him in a terrible way.
Mild-mannered small-town Texan Richard Dane shoots lowlife burglar Freddy Russell in the head one night in 1989 out of self-defense, enjoying a newfound reputation for himself as a moralistic vigilante willing to do right by his community. Things take a turn for the worse when Freddy's ex-convict father visits the area, however, sending Richard down a tortured road with a blood-splattered end.
