A Late Quartet (10-Sep-2012)|
Director: Yaron Zilberman
Writers: Seth Grossman; Yaron Zilberman
Aging members of a well-respected string quartet struggle with interpersonal struggles and the ever-looming specter of mortality.
Peter Mitchell, accomplished cellist and dean of a quarter-century-old award-winning classical string quarter, retires from his profession following a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. Troubling interpersonal calamities rule the day from there on out as the group's remaining members begin to turn against one another in the absence of their de-facto leader, problems the group must resist disintegrating over if they are to continue performing Beethoven's String Quarter no. 14, Op. 131, a piece renowned for being performed non-stop regardless of life's present difficulties.
