Director: Michael Wadleigh Producer: Bob Maurice Keywords: Music Concert, Rock and Roll, Hippies The three-day long music festival, held August 15-18 in 1969. Hugely important cultural artifact; originally received an X rating, an outright absurdity. Won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature; received additional nominations for Best Sound and Best Editing. Entered 1996 into the National Film Registry. A director's cut adds 40 minutes of additional music.
