The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1-Oct-1974)

Director: Tobe Hooper

Writers: Tobe Hooper; Kim Henkel

Music: Wayne Bell; Tobe Hooper

Keywords: Horror, Controversial, Slasher, Texas, Cannibalism

Five vacationing teenagers visit an old Texas homestead, only to be hunted down one-by-one by Leatherface and family. There is very little gore in the film; much of the violence is just offscreen, and only one victim falls due to a chainsaw. Shot on 16mm but good cinematography considering the budget. Genesis of the slasher genre.
