ABSTRACT Based on a 1990 piece in The Sun titled "On Seeing a Sex Surrogate", The Sessions tells the story of how Mark O'Brien, a poet in late-80s Berkeley, California forced to live in an iron lung due to complications from polio, hires a professional sex surrogate following consultation with his priest to permit him to lose his virginity. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
