ABSTRACT
Robert Ledgard, a world-class plastic surgeon, finds himself in the process of perfecting a groundbreaking form of synthetic skin -- called "GAL" -- designed to be resistant to burns and insect bites. As the good doctor draws closer to the big reveal of his scientific opus, however, elements of his twisted behind-the-scenes existence ranging from date rape to sex changes and the imprisonment of a young woman at his estate bubble to the surface and threaten to ruin his life and career.
