Escaped prisoner and money launderer Carl Quigley nearly runs over 12-year-old Preston Waters in the bank parking lot by accident; since his bike was totaled Quigley gives the child a check but departs in a rush before filling in an amount. Preston fills in the amount as $1,000,000 and the check clears; thus embarks a juvenile spending spree as Quigley desperately tries to track down the money.
