ABSTRACT
Walter Vale, a lonely, widowed 62-year old Connecticut professor burned out from his heavy life and career, travels to Manhattan to attend a conference at New York University. Walter arrives at his apartment to find illegal immigrants Tarek and Zainab squatting inside; eager to assist them in their predicament, Walter must endure a series of hurdles presented by their illegal status in a paranoid post-9/11 American as he looks to form a kinship with the fellow lost souls.
