Two college students are framed for murder after a run-in with a hitchhiking serial killer.

ABSTRACT
Remake of The Hitcher (1986). Jim Halsey and girlfriend Grace Andrews, two New Mexico college students traveling to a spring break destination, give an ill-advised ride to hitchhiker John Ryder. He turns out to be a knife-wielding serial killer nicknamed "The Hitcher", and is kicked out after threatening their lives. The next day, Jim and Grace happen to spot John in another car; the unfortunate occupants are killed shortly thereafter, with John attempting to frame the couple for the slaying. Now, Jim and Grace must find a way to avoid being pinned as killers as they are locked into a terrifying game with the man they'd foolishly picked up on the side of the road not too long ago.
