Murder by Death (23-Jun-1976)

Director: Robert Moore

Writer: Neil Simon

Music by: Dave Grusin

Producer: Ray Stark

Keywords: Mystery, Comedy

Five of the world's greatest detectives (each a parody of a well-known fictional detective) and their guests are invited to the mansion of the eccentric Lionel Twain for a mystery, and to see which of them is the greatest of all. Ensemble spoof has most of its humor spoken and clever, almost as if it were written for radio; such a film could never be produced today. Truman Capote is not much of an actor, but his damage is limited. Crazy ending!
