Loose adaptation of the classic folk tale focuses on a young woman's romance with a reviled character in a village haunted by a werewolf.

ABSTRACT
Valerie, a young girl living in a medieval village with parents Cesaire and Suzette and sister Lucie, harbors a requited affection for an orphaned woodcutter named Peter. Planning to run away with the young man in an act of defiance against her parents' wishes to arrange a marriage between her and the aristocratic son of a blacksmith, Valerie learns that the town's neighboring forest's much-feared werewolf has broken his truce not to prey on her native community, forcing her into a situation where she must fend for herself as the town descends into chaos and mass hysteria.
