Remake of the 2001 film of the same name centers on a psychological prison role-playing experiment gone awry.

Remake of The Experiment (2001). Twenty-six volunteers assemble for a psychological study spearheaded by Dr. Archaleta that finds subjects divided into role-playing groups of prison guards and inmates. Intended to be a peaceful event ending in a $14,000 payday for each participant if they manage to follow the rules for fourteen days, the proceedings quickly spiral out of control when the "guards" take their assigned roles a bit too seriously, engaging in increasingly-sadistic behavior at the expense of the "prisoners" while the study's observers look on and refuse to intervene.
