A mail-order bride journeying westward doesn't quite click with the man she came to marry; she meets up with a group of "Harvey Girls" headed towards one of the chain's legendary entertainment venues and restaurants. Splendid MGM musical produced in the wake of their smash hit Oklahoma! (1955). Won an Oscar for Best Original Song, "On the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe"; received an additional nomination for Best Score of a Musical.
