ABSTRACT
Thirty-year old Greek-American woman Toula Portokalos lives and breathes her family's proud Mediterranean heritage, working at their Greek-themed restaurant in Chicago. When the ever-ambitious Toula's plans to make something of her life by attending classes at an area college lead to a romance with WASPy English teacher Ian Miller, she must work overtime at convincing her closed-off family to accept the young man and, more specifically, their relationship despite his ethnic background.
