A New York City fashion designer with a promising future must come to terms with her Southern past.

ABSTRACT
Melanie Carmichael is an attractive young woman with the world seemingly wrapped around her finger, setting her sights on a budding career in the fashion industry as she entertains a relationship with the Big Apple's most eligible bachelor. One Empire State-sized problem lurks in Melanie's past, however: Estranged ex-husband Jake back home in Alabama's refusal to divorce her. A bittersweet return trip home turns sentimental, as Melanie soon begins to wonder whether Yankee living is actually any better than her old ways.
